If you’re visiting Sydney city, use Posse to find the best local places as recommended by people you trust- your social circle. We’ll only take you to the best of the best, we promise!
Here’s a bunch of local favourites Cassie recommends you stop by:
Having just celebrated their 10th Birthday and launched a new Autumn/Winter menu, New Farm’s Spoon Deli have plenty to shout about. Manager Joy Flynn says 2013 has taken Spoon Deli to a new level, incorporating new concepts and ideas for both the menu and deli options. Renowned for their great coffee, award-winning breakfast spread and delicious in-house and take home deli options; their best kept secret is ain in-house developed ice-cream flavour. The Spoon Deli Hokey Pokey is a dark chocolate ice cream with fresh honey comb and chocolate chunk. Each member of the team sampled a bunch of new flavours and it was the Hokey Pokey that made the final cut. Be sure to try it out next time you’re in!
Our cutie-pie designer Anna, has just returned from a 3 week trip to Japan & Korea. ‘Just returned’ is probably stretching it- Anna has been back for over a month now, but we’re reminded every time she squeals upon discovering another holiday discovery has joined Posse thanks to her! We (kinda) squeal too, because we know when we’re next in the area, our trusty Posse app will lead us right down the path Anna traced to those kimchi fries she’s still banging on about!
Here’s the places she insists you MUST check out:
Sarah and her Husband fell inlove with collecting beautiful oddities a long time ago; a love that turned into a gorgeous, chic, bric-a-brac store in Port Adelaide. “We started to run out of room!” says My Modern Nest co owner Sarah, “So we started to sell online. When the opportunity to open a shop came up we jumped at the chance!” The shop houses many gorgeous restored pieces, each carefully selected. “We can’t reveal our trade secrets, but we find things all over the place, sometimes in the strangest of places. We do lots of day trips all over Adelaide, and once found an amazing TH Brown bar stool at my parent’s local garden center Now that we have the store people are approaching us with their pieces!” Why they love Posse? “We love to try new things and like that we can find out about new places to go so easily, and know we will most probably like them if our friends are recommending them. It takes the guess work out of trying somewhere new.” Sarah herself spills on where the crew from My Modern Nest frequent around Adelaide, via Posse:
Somewhere along the way we received a tip-off about a bunch of guys doing something super cool in Castle Hill. The Baron is centred on simplicity, sustainability and attention to detail. Opened by 3 mates, with no hospitality experience, who love coffee, beer and food, they grew up in the area and knew it was in need of a good local. So after a few too many drinks one night they decided to open a shop and over the period of a year, planned & prepped as much as they could. They hired some of the best staff anyone could ask for and with their help, they made The Baron!
