If you are seeking tranquillity in the middle of Australia’s busiest city, then this is the place to go. For those who are really on a budget, pay the cheap $6 entry and enjoy a packed lunch while taking in the amazing scenery. For those with a little more to spare, splurge on the tasty $20 yum cha in the Teahouse (which includes a glass of wine, and dessert!) before heading off to dress up as imperial royalty at the costume shop. It’s a perfect opportunity to indulge in the Chinese culture, and get to know more about your date too – they don’t call it the Garden of Friendship for nothing!

For under $50, two can take the ferry to Watsons Bay, order fresh seafood (don’t forget the Doyles Sauce!), and soak in amazing harbour views, before taking a stroll along the beach.

The walk from the main Manly walkway to this little hideaway is stunning, and will give you and your date plenty of time to bond. By the time you arrive, you’ll both be peckish and what better location to eat than right on the sands of Shelley Beach!? If you are looking for great food and amazing views then you can’t go wrong with Le Kiosk.

For those who are really on a budget, a romantic day in Centennial Park is the perfect choice. Hop on your bicycle with a packed picnic, and explore all the secluded and spectacular hideaways the parklands has to offer. Don’t have a bike? Not a problem. Head over to Centennial Park Cycles and hire them from $15 an hour.
