After outgrowing Carriageworks, the Finders Keepers markets have moved to the Australian Technology Park this season and at three times the size, these markets are bigger and better than ever! Head down to the Autumn/Winter biannual design market this weekend to pick up something unique from emerging designers.
Unlike the average suburban weekend market, the FK markets feature over 150 stalls from handpicked local designers selling everything from clothes, accessories, art, homewares and thousands of various other knick-knacks! Start assembling up your wishlist by checking out the top designers on their website. We love these charming homewares from LouiseMStudio, accessories from Days of August (who uses upcycled materials to create unique pieces of jewellery), and these quirky prints by Lauren Merrick Illustrations. Make sure you bring plenty of cash on the day, as the ATM lines can be daunting and most stalls don’t take card.
The FK markets go above and beyond and have a fresh list of budding musicians such as Leroy Lee, Martha Marlow, Bec Sandridge and Boy Outside. Sit back, relax and take in the tunes.
Shop, relax and EAT! The food line-up is not to be missed, with a multitude of mouth-watering farmer’s lane vendors and food trucks opening up their roller doors to satisfy your hunger. Take a stroll down Farmer’s Lane and explore tasty treats, Cicada Chocolate locally produces their own chocolate from bean to bar! Relish the taste of pickles, jams and chutneys by the Cornersmith Picklers, indulge in some high quality loose leaf tea at Hai Tea, get adventurous with Miss Danni’s whacky popcorn flavours, and just explore! Food trucks make a comeback with their presence at this market – try some fantastico tacos at the Cantina Movil truck, Eat Art Truck delivers a progressive American BBQ-esque menu, Tsuru food truck will be pumping our their signature BBQ Pork buns. Thirsty? Gulp down some freshly roasted coffee from the Allpress truck, or for something stronger try Stone & Wood’s locally handcrafted beers.
