It’s that time of the year again. Splendour’s back and better than ever with a killer lineup! Splendour has definitely raised the bar this year, with the likes of Outkast, Foals, Metronomy, Nic Jaar, Angus and Julia Stone and several other international artists, alongside local artists set to play. They’ll have workshops, mini clothes shops and food stores. You’ll be equipped with all the essentials required to make your festival experience truly enjoyable. Below is our day-to-day guide to Splendour 2014 from Friday to Sunday.
Where: Byron Bay
When: 25-27 July
Begin your Splendour experience on Friday with some tunes from local artists including Charles Murdoch, Kilter and the The Kite Street Tangle at the Mix Up stage. Explore the grounds and grab a bite to eat before kicking off your night, with Kelis playing at 7.30, and Childish Gambino at 9.15. Top off your night by making your way to the amphitheatre where Outkast will be putting on one hell of a show!
Saturday will be a big one! Kick on from the night before and dance your way into the following afternoon. The Mixed Stage is where it’s going to be at for the day/afternoon. There will be ongoing sets from local acts, starting with Wave Racer, LDRU & Yahtzel, Basenji, Touch Sensitive, and Motez. UK band, Metronomy, will switch things up a bit with some alternative electro-pop tunes to get you ready for Foals who will be playing at the Amphitheatre 15 minutes before the end of Metronomy’s set. End your night with a bit of Rufus back at the Mixed Stage straight after Foals.
You’ll probably be exhausted by Sunday, but get some energy in you for the day and night ahead because the artists lined up should definitely not be missed. Chrome Sparks will boost your hype up with some of his majestic electronic beats. The acts to see after go by the following; Oisima, Cosmos Midnight, Sable, Phantogram, Nina Las Vegas, Danny Brown and Nic Jaar. A perfect way to end Splendour!
This is a sold out event but be sure to take a look on Gumtree or Splendour’s event Facebook page. If you think there are other artists that should be mentioned, let us know!
